The Crochet/Knit Ministry has been very active this year. Prayer shawls, lap blankets, hats and scarves and even three sleeping mats made out of plastic shopping bags were made this year. (These crocheted mats are six feet long by three feet wide and were given to the homeless to sleep on, so that they are not laying on the bare ground. Each mat used approximately 850/900 grocery bags.)
There was also a large Red Cross Afghan made and presented to the Red Cross group that meets here at church.
This was also a year of losing members to moves made out of town. We miss Rachel Foster, Bev Sabia, and Barbara Mazotta Howard. They were all very prolific crafters and we feel their loss and friendship immensely. (We also miss our youngest crocheter, Isabella Howard.)
Still active in our group are Carolyn Chesto, Tami Duda, Linda Howard, Karen Ligi and myself.
Our ministry meets once a month from September to June. If you would like to join us, we would be pleased to add you to our team.
Yours in Christ,
